ELIJAH CRAIG 18 YEAR OLD SINGLE BARREL
Elijah Craig 18- year -old Single Barrel Bourbon, the oldest Single Barrel Bourbon available in the world, is bottled soley from one barrel hand-selected by Master Distiller Parker Beam. Only a handful of the millions of barrels of Bourbon aging in Kentucky have been allowed to mature this long. The brand is named for Rev. Elijah Craig, the man who discovered the method of making true Kentucky Bourbon when he stored his wares in barrels that had been charred by fire. Bon Appetit magazine describes this Single Barrel as "rich and complex, a whiskey suggestive of a fine Cognac."
Elijah Craig Single Barrel 18 Year Old Bourbon Tasting Notes and Reviews
"A buttery vanilla nose with some winey notes, a hint of caramel, and an aroma that can be described only as being reminiscent of Butterfingers candy bars; a medium body presents a dry, almost cognac-like palate with eucalyptus notes and some hints, in the backdrop, of deep rich caramel; the finish is crisp, dry, and lasts a lifetime. Rating: 95"

"The crisp oakiness of the bouquet indicated directly that this is a no-nonsense Bourbon. The color is a very deep amber, burnt orange tone with ideal clarity. The mouth presence is divine; showing equal parts elegance and command. Layered flavors of cream, almonds, vanilla extract and smoke all meet at midpalate and carry through to the soft-but-fiery aftertaste. A very strong four star rating."

"Nose: Subtle. Nutty. Almonds. Palate: Light-bodied for this distillery. Firm, smooth, almost slippery. Lots of flavour development. Sweet, then fragrantly smoky. Finish: Rounded. Appetizing. Comments: Very urbane. Rating: 8 ¼ "

Whisky Magazine
"Nose: A weighty nose with a depth of honey where there had once been fruit. Perplexing coastal feel for something distilled 1,000 miles inland! Palate: Lighter bodied than the 12, with a more simplistic oakiness. Honey and rye cling together. Finish: Toasty with a residual rye oiliness and a soft vanilla sweetness. Comments: A solid and charming bourbon. Rating 8."

"Elijah Craig 18 Year Old Single Barrel - Despite spending the better part of two decades in oak, this single barrel bourbon has a light bouquet and a well-rounded body. Its deep amber color is the first indication that this is a serious bourbon. It's a carefully layered mosaic of flavors, including toffee, vanilla and charred wood."
Nightclub & Bar Magazine
"Almost heathery nose, with some saddle soap/leather and rich nuttiness. Soft, rich fruit on the palate and a balancing spicy pepperiness. Excellent. A rating of five stars."
Dave Broom
Handbook of Whisky
"Deep oak aromas with a note of caramel. Oak dominates the palate, releasing vanilla, honey and smoke flavors; pleasant, tight ending."
