Celebrate Lincoln's Birthday

Welcome to Bardstown
Celebrate Lincoln’s birthday,
February 12th, 2008

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States was born just south of Bardstown on February 12, 1809. When Lincoln’s father wasn’t working on the family’s farm, he was helping out at the original “Boone” distillery located a couple of miles north of Abe’s birthplace. On many occasions, young Abe delivered meals to his dad at the plant.

Lincoln and his parents knew the Bardstown area well, so join us in February when America and the world will commemorate the 199th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln—a man many consider to be the greatest leader in American history. Stay tuned for the many events, attractions and celebrations that will mark his 200th birthday next year.
